Microgrids and Power Resiliency for Data Centers: Myth Busting and Exploring New Solutions.

From CT.org…This notice is for a webcast that has passed. It sounds interesting. The
conference is not the reason for presenting this expired notice. The reason is to highlight the
emergence of microgrids as a part of the urban environment. The day of the regional
sewerage treatment plant, the regional shopping mall and the humongous power plants,
nuclear and non, is evolving to a more nuanced approach. Learning more about micro-infrastructure systems is timely and may prove useful for small cities and towns.

To solve for power infrastructure that is aging, data center leaders are turning to cutting-edge technology like microgrids to deliver electricity more reliably, reduce the impact of power outages, and restore service faster when outages occur.

But here’s the challenge: Can microgrids support critical infrastructure requirements? Can they become the preferred backup method for data centers? And can they become the bridge to support emerging power designs, including renewable natural gas, solar, and other power solutions?
