HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE

In 1881, the City Brewery was founded on Pearl grounds. And, by 1916, it was the largest brewery in Texas. What’s more is, under the direction of Chief Executive Officer Emma Koehler, it was the only brewery in San Antonio to survive prohibition.
